Wordless Wednesday - Fun in the Sun

28 weeks down, 12 to go

The third trimester is here!! While part of me feels like I have been pregnant forever, another part of me is shocked that in less than three months little Clara will be here. Part of me wishes it would go faster so that she could be here already and part of me wants it to slow down because then I will have to take care of three kids... THREE! I am a mess of contradictions currently. :) Anyway, things are going well with the pregnancy. I have only gained four pounds, which is great, and passed my one hour gestational diabetes test with flying colors... something I haven't done before. See this post for last time. My sciatica is there most of the time but does seem marginally better than with Brianna. The girls are super excited. Audrey and Brianna both talk about the baby all the time. I am, well my belly, is constantly getting kisses and hugs. They tell Clara they love her and want her to come out. I have explained to them that they have to wait a while longer. Brianna constantly tells me that she is not a baby anymore, she is a big sister. I love that they are excited but it does emphasize to me how old they are getting. *sigh* So bittersweet.

My Big Girl - Audrey - almost 4 1/2 years

My Little Girl - Brianna - 26 months (2 years 2 months)

My baby - Clara - 28 weeks gestation

Ballet Recital

I always wanted to be a ballerina as a little girl. Unfortunately it never worked out for me to take classes. So, when Audrey expressed interest in ballet at about the age of three we looked into getting her into classes. We found a WONDERFUL school in Silverdale that offers classes for her age, for a reasonable price, and has flexible dress code and schedules. As well as excellent teachers. The Gallery School of Music and Dance is where we go. They did a small show right before Christmas that was quite cute but then the pièce de résistance was the big recital in June. I was quite excited to see my little girl on stage, in a tutu, performing. And I was NOT let down. She loved being on stage and was quite the ham. She smiled from ear to ear and truly enjoyed the limelight. Brianna might be taking ballet in the fall and I am just swooning at the vision of two little ones in tutus on stage next year. :)

Audrey's class did an interpretation of the Cruella De Vil song from 101 Dalmatians. The kids were all the puppies and their teacher was Cruella. Well done and what an adorable choice. The best part was when they would all shake their "tails" and their tutus would swoosh back and forth.

Waiting backstage before the curtain call.

Member's Night at the Zoo

On June 17th there was a Member's Only night at the zoo. I decided to take the girls so that we could get out of the house and ignore the fact that Derek is working swing shift still. It was a really good time. There was a live band, face painting, extra zookeepers posted at all the exhibits to answer questions, all the animals were out and the girls even got to feed an aardvark. It was SUPER crowded but we had a good time and came home late and exhausted.

Brianna was a little more freaked out by it than Audrey

Harbor seal winking at us

Polar bear being quite sassy

Elephant in the elephant barn... she got a snack while we watched

Audrey's facepainting of a rainbow

Brianna getting a meerkat (?) painted on her face, she was giving the girl some dirty looks while she painted. It was quite funny.

Pleased with the end result

I have recently gotten back into crocheting. I finished a blanket for myself that I started a long time ago but never finished. I have made several hats ( a new venture for me) and am going to be starting a new blanket for Clara soon. Here is a sampling of my work:

May was a weird month weather wise. It did give us some beautiful weather... and some not so beautiful weather. We made the most of all we could. Enjoy these pictures of the girls enjoying the outdoors:

We Are...PARAMORE!!!

Derek and I really like a band called Paramore. Derek got into them a while ago and last summer I became a big fan. They released a new album in September that we got the day it came out, I almost never do that with CD's. Well in February we saw that they were going to be touring and coming to Seattle. It was right at the time we got our tax return and we decided to get tickets for Derek's birthday present, they were really well priced at only $30 a piece. The opening band was even Relient K, which is one of Derek's favorite bands. It was the perfect present... we just had to wait until May for the concert.

On May 12th we headed to the WAMU Theater in downtown Seattle for the concert. It was AWESOME! We had a great time. The bands were great and Paramore sang for almost 2 straight hours. They sound just as good in person (which isn't always the case) and were even great entertainers, interacting well with the crowd. My sister came and babysat and even loaned me her camera so I didn't have to lug my big one to the concert. Here are some pictures:
