Blog FAIL...

I have been so bad about keeping up lately and I don't really have an excuse.
So here is an update:

I am officially 15 weeks pregnant. Seems like it has gone fast in some regards and in others...not so much. I am not feeling anywhere near as nauseous as I was so that's good. My appetite is still very different and I am still down five pounds. I am not complaining except for the fact that it looks like I have gained about 15 pounds. I am getting over a sinus infection that knocked me out for a few days. But the antibiotics seem to have done their job and I am on the mend. I have felt a few flutters but nothing too significant yet. We have heard the heartbeat at the doctor's office and even at home thanks to the borrowing of a home Doppler from a friend. We should know what we are having withing the month... definitely by the 23rd. I will update once I know the date of our ultrasound. I am VERY anxious to find out what this baby is. I feel like I connect so much more with the baby once I know and it is easier to prepare.

Derek is still out of work and trying to keep busy. The softball season has started and games will begin in about 3 weeks. Derek is very happy about this. I am happy that he has something to do and look forward to every week.

The girls are pretty much the same. Driving each other crazy and us in turn. They are busy little girls with active imaginations. When they play nice it is so funny to listen to .... then when they don't, well it's a good thing we have two bedrooms to separate them into when that happens. Most of the time they are a hoot though. Here are a few pics of them on our most recent trip to the zoo:

Aren't I cute?

Trying to get a picture of both of them smiling and looking at the camera: Fail!

Just my B!

Audrey after an "episode", don't remember what she was crying about

She was done with pictures, can you tell?

Brianna didn't want to take this picture... poor B :)

By the way, her hair was done like that because she was pretending to be a "bunnyhop" (bunny) that morning and wanted bunny ears.

Almost the end...

... of the first trimester! YAY!! Next Wednesday (3/17) I will officially be in the second trimester. I can't believe I am already there. My last first trimester is almost behind me. It has been the roughest first trimester I have ever had. I lost about 6 pounds and have put back on about 2 pounds. I am having more good days then bad now and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Only about 6-7 more weeks until we find out the gender of our little bean. Audrey has decided that she wants a girl. Hopefully if it is a boy she won't be too upset... I think she will adjust just fine though. She is very excited to have a baby in the house and has already asked if she can help to dress it and feed it. She told me she would protect the baby and make sure that Brianna wouldn't push it down. I took her with me this week to my 12 week appointment to hear the heartbeat. She was very good and listened intently for that thu-thump thu-thump. It is a different experience having a child who is aware of what is happening this time as opposed to Brianna who doesn't quite get it yet. I can't wait to find out what we're having and start preparing to meet our final addition.

March Birthday-palooza

March is another month where we have birthday parties galore. After Derek's on the fourth we were invited (well, the girls were invited) to Cecily's third birthday princess party. There were crafts to make necklaces, bracelets and coloring. There was a girl dressed as Cinderella and there was even a castle to pose in front of for pictures. There was dancing, bubbles, balloons and cake... what more could a girl ask for? Needless to say they had a blast and napped really well for us that afternoon. Thanks for sharing your special day with us, Cecily!

Posing in front of the castle, they had a conspiracy against me to never look at the camera at the same time:

Playing in the park....

We had a stretch of several nice days. We decided to take the girls to the Waterfront Park in Silverdale to play on the fifth. Here are a few pics of our time there:

Derek's Birthday

On March 4th, Derek turned 29. We started off the day by going to Sluy's to get Derek his favorite donut for breakfast. The girls also wanted to get daddy balloons so we went to the Dollar Tree and I let each of them pick out a balloon for Derek. They LOVED doing that. Brianna picked a Mickey Mouse balloon and Audrey picked out a basic Star balloon. We got home about 10 minutes after Derek woke up and completely surprised him. After breakfast Audrey gave him the present that she picked out for him, all by herself - no kidding. This is what she got him:

It's a bobble-head and he loved it. This was the first year she was old enough to pick out something by herself and she did an excellent job. Derek and I purchased concert tickets with our tax return and that was his present from me. We also made him a cake because Audrey insisted that Daddy needed a cake on his birthday. She even helped to decorate. We had german chocolate and put Star Wars figurines that we already had on top and wrote Happy Birthday... Audrey dictated most of the decorating. Here is the final product:

That night Derek's mom took us out to dinner at Fujiyama in Silverdale. SOOOOO Good!!!! It wasn't cheap, THANKS LYNNETTE!, but was the best steak I have ever had! My wonderful sister-in-law and brother-in-law watched our girls for us so that we could go. It was nice to go to a nice restaurant. Fujiyama is like Benihana's where they cook the food in front of you and I think we got the best chef. He was very funny and entertaining and made a delicious meal. It is definitely going to be a place to put into our "fancy dinner" rotations... if we ever get to do that again. :)

Saturday evening we had a family birthday party at Lynnette's. She made delicious burgers and homemade fries. So yummy. We had a good time celebrating Derek's birthday. Derek even got a food dehydrator from his grandma. Now we have a whole new way to prepare food. It will be interesting to see what we come up with. :) Derek's mom made his birthday cake an exact replica of the cake she made at his third birthday. It was even on the same cutting board and had the same spelling mistake as the first one. :) So sweet and so yummy... man, I am using that word a lot this post.
