Wordless Friday????

I am a day late and a dollar short as the saying goes but here is my "Wordless Wednesday" for the week.

In the pool fully clothed!!

The aftermath

A Decade!

I made it! Yesterday was the decade mark of when I got my license and I have never even been pulled over!!!! I am pretty happy that I made it. I was expecting those red and blue lights this week as I remembered that this date was approaching. Let's see if I can go another decade.... ha ha ha ha ha.

Memorial Day Weekend

I know I am getting this on here late but we had a great Memorial Day Weekend. Derek didn't have to work and the weather was fantastic! We didn't really do anything big but we were busy. Friday night we hung out with friends and then stayed up way too late!

Saturday morning Derek had softball practice and the girls and I went to Old Navy for the big summer sale they were having. I got a few pairs of flip-flops and a couple other small things. Then after naps we headed to Eva's third birthday party. It was a good time. We bar-b-qued, hung out with friends and the girls ran around exhausting themselves. That night Derek and I went to see Star Trek (as noted in previous post) and again stayed up way too late.

Sunday was the usual. We had church and then we came home for naps before our Financial Peace class. The girls went over to my sister-in-laws while we were in class. She had a pool out and has a big backyard. They were exhausted again! :)

Monday morning Derek let me sleep in :) and then I went to Value Village with Delayna. I got a couple of exercise outfits and another leotard for Audrey for when we put her in ballet in the fall. Then we had another bar-b-que with friends. We all slept really well that night. We had a long weekend that flew by and was a lot of fun. We really needed that time of Derek being home. He is currently not working overtime, as of this week, and hopefully that will last for a few weeks so that we can have a break for a little while. The upside is that with all the overtime he has been doing in the last 9 months he is getting his raise a few months early and he should have it at the end of June. Small favors!

Date Night

Last night Derek and I went on a date. I am ashamed to admit it has been a few months since we went on a date. We have been wanting to go and see Star Trek and have been so busy that we didn't think we were going to be able to. Then I had an epiphany. We had Bekah come over and went out after we put the girls to bed. We went to Austin Chase and got my favorite coffee beverage and then went to Target to walk around until the movie started. It was very relaxing. We both enjoyed the movie and the time out together. The only drawback is that it meant a late night and somehow Brianna missed the memo to sleep in .... oh well. :)

Morning Glory

Audrey's amazing growth machine has a blossom:

Garage Sale 2009

I have recently gone through a completely non-baby related nesting urge. While we don't know where we are going to be moving to yet I have been looking ahead at the moving process. I have never moved with two children and was feeling a little nervous about it. While pondering how the process might go I started to look around at my house. Man we have a lot of .... stuff! I decided I would clean out the house. Get rid of what we don't use and just purge purge purge. Well, I got a little carried away. By the time I was done I had a truckload PLUS my car stuffed full. I decided to have a garage sale with my mom. We set the date for the sixteenth with the plan that whatever we didn't sell we would donate to the church for the youth rummage sale. It was a GREAT plan, if I do say so myself. We had a great day for it, perfect weather. The time went fast and I made $66! Then I still had a TON of stuff to donate to the youth. While I was a little bummed that I didn't sell more at first I was actually grateful in the end. I can't donate to the youth as often as I would like and I felt like I was actually contributing to their missions trips this summer this way. Here are a few pics of the sale:

The exercise machine my step-dad was trying to sell and his sign, I thought it was funny...

A word to the "why"s

Audrey has recently entered the preschool phase of "WHY".

"Audrey don't put that toy in the refrigerator"
"Why?"
"Because toys don't belong in the fridge."
"Why?"
"Because you can't play with them if they are in the fridge and then they get cold."
"Why?"
"Because it is cold in the fridge." .... getting tired at this point...
"Why?"
"Because we need the fridge to be cold for the food we keep in it." ... trying to be patient...
"Why?"
"Because some foods need to be kept cold so that they don't go bad."
"Why?" ... at this point my brain has reached boiling point ...
"Because if we eat food that is bad we will get sick."
"Why?"
"Because it will hurt our tummies"
This is when I am trying to restrain myself from saying the phrase I promised I would never say but seems to come all to easily to my lips these days.
"Why?"
*
patience gone, bass drums sounds* "BECAUSE I SAID SO!"

UGH!!! I've said it. I promised I would never say it and I said. Unfortunately every WHY tirade ends in this manner and I feel like I have lost the battle yet again. I assuage my guilt by telling myself that I tried to answer all her questions. If I didn't end the tirade I would be perpetually saying "because...." and I would NEVER get anything done. *sigh* While I appreciate my daughter's confidence that I do indeed know the answer to every question, it is exhausting answering 1,000,000 questions a day. Maybe someday with all my house work is done and I am caught up with everything her questions won't exhaust me so....... HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's day weekend was great! Luckily Derek's company decided that they weren't going to work that weekend to give everyone a MUCH needed break. So Derek was home ALL WEEKEND! Friday night Derek had a softball game to make up for a rain-out they had a couple of weeks ago. We BBQ'd beforehand and had birthday cake to celebrate a friend's birthday. Then the guys played a great game that they won!!!

Saturday we went to Mommy and Me at the Zoo at Point Defiance Zoo. My mom and sister came with us and we had a great time. The weather was beautiful and we just walked the zoo and looked at all the animals. We had a yummy lunch where a peacock tried to walk off with half of Audrey's sandwich. We were pooped by the end of the day and spent a relaxing evening at home. That evening I went to the mall to get my Mother's Day present - new bras!!!

Sunday we went to church and then out to lunch with Lynnette (my mother-in-law) at Red Robin, yum! Then we went home for naps. After lunch we headed to the mall where they had a small carnival set up. There were like 12 rides and some games and such. We don't know what it was for but it wasn't crowded and there were about 5 rides that Audrey could do. It was such a good time. Audrey had a blast!!! Unfortunately there wasn't anything that Brianna could do and I felt bad but she was a good sport and happily watched her sister partake in the fun.

A-B-C's

Audrey has recently become a fan of a kid's show called Super Why. On it they sing the ABC's in a different way then the traditional. Audrey has started singing her ABC's this way. Here is a clip of the show and then Audrey singing the song:
